**The role**

We are looking for a collaborative Library Technician to join our Knowledge Commons team to assist in the provision of library and information services that support the educational aims of the School and enrich its teaching programs.

You will be required to provide a variety of support to other library staff, teaching staff and students, in the areas of technical services, accessioning procedures, reference and research and circulation duties.

This is a full time, ongoing position, ideally, commencing as soon as possible. The Knowledge Commons facility provides access and services for students before and after school, and you will need to have flexibility to support the opening (7.30am start) or closing (6pm finish) shifts.

**The successful applicant will possess the following attributes**:

- Diploma of Library & Information Services
- Relevant previous experience in similar library technician roles, preferably within an environment where adolescents were part of the client group. Previous experience in co-educational, independent Schools will be well regarded
- Previous experience with editing an LMS or Libguide creation
- Experience with AccessIT - preferable but not essential
- Strong understanding of children’s and young adult literature
- Demonstrated experience in cataloguing materials
- Experience in the creation of library displays to support and encourage student borrowing advantageous
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and interact with both adults and students
- High level verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently but also as part of a dynamic, creative and collaborative team
- Hold a current Employee Working with Children Check or willing to obtain this prior to commencement
- Have a National Police Check (obtained within the last six months)
