Liverpool City Libraries is looking for a Team Leader Local Studies to join the Library and Museum team, delivering services that connect, inform and engage the Liverpool community with the history and heritage of the Liverpool LGA.

**ABOUT THE ROLE.**

As the Team Leader Local Studies, you will lead services that manage a unique heritage collection, carry out research and create content to further understanding of local history, and develop programs that engage interest in local history. You will be part of the Library Services team and will also contribute to service wide outcomes.

The role is assisted by a Local Studies Officer and works in partnership with the Liverpool Regional Museum and community stakeholders. It is based in Liverpool CBD and will be moving to an exciting new library building in 2024. The role includes evening and weekend shifts, directly assisting customers.

**ABOUT YOU.**

Increasing access to collections and heritage stories is a key outcome of the role. Strong skills in cataloguing, archives, collection digitisation and research are essential.

To be successful in the role, you will be required to demonstrate advanced skills and experience relevant to this role. Such as:

- Completion of degree or postgraduate-level library and information studies, conferring eligibility for associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association. Or relevant tertiary qualifications in related discipline.
- Class C Drivers Licence.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a public library and a customer service environment.
- Developing and leading a team, including the support, supervision, and training of staff.
- Experience in formulating and drafting new policies, procedures programs and reporting processes.
- Ability to plan, resource and implement activities in the area of Local Studies.
- High level experience in the digitisation of resources and experience in developing Local Studies collections in various formats within budget limits.
- Contributing to strategic planning and the development of business plans.
- Proven experience in supervising a service, including the provision of quality Local Studies or Heritage services.
