Evolution English Language Centre is an established ELICOS college affiliated with Evolution Hospitality Institute, providing a study pathway into Vocational courses in the areas of Hospitality, Cookery, Travel and Tourism.

Evolution is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified, dynamic ELICOS teacher (level 2) for our upcoming General English course.

Class timetable:

- Starter: Monday
- Thursday Evening, 4:30 pm -9:30 pm
- Elementary: Monday
- Thursday Evening, 4:30 pm -9:30 pm
- Pre-intermediate: Monday
- Thursday Evening, 4:30 pm -9:30 pm
- Intermediate: Monday
- Thursday Evening, 4:30 pm -9:30 pm
- Upper-Intermediate: Monday
- Thursday Evening, 4:30 pm -9:30 pm
- must be degree qualified (a recognised degree in any discipline or equivalent)
- holds a recognised TESOL qualification (preferably Cambridge CELTA or DELTA)
- must have a minimum of 2 years of experience teaching General English
- has the ability to keep students on their toes by planning and delivering engaging class content
- is innovative, creative and dynamic in their approach to teaching
- is considerate and creates a friendly and supportive learning environment for all students
- has the ability to empathise with students and appreciates the challenges of learning a foreign language
- is independent and has excellent classroom management skills
- fully embraces their duties and is willing to go above and beyond
- current working with children check

Your duties will include (but are not limited to)
- teaching 20 hours of General English per week; using Cambridge Empower Digital
- prepare lesson plans with dynamic activities designed to engage and inspire students
- give students regular tests in line with the Assessment Schedule and syllabus
- follow the learning outcomes detailed in the syllabus
- organising regular excursions for students to places of interest in Sydney
- marking attendance and reporting any issues to the ELICOS Head teacher
- basic administration duties
- monitoring students’ welfare and reporting any concerns to the Head of Academic
- record-keeping (such as lesson plans, student assessment outcomes etc.)
- act as the first point of contact for students’ enquiries

**Independent contractors are required**:

- to be registered as a company or sole trader; requiring an Australian business number(ABN) or Australian Company Number (ACN);
- be registered for Goods and Services Tax (GST);
- maintain liability and indemnity insurance coverage ( workers compensation - as legislation requires; public liability — not less than $20,000,000.00; and professional indemnity — not less than $20,000,000.00);
- must maintain currency and professional development; and any other regulatory obligation as legislated by the governing bodies.
