**The Role**

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Regional City Planning team as a Strategic Planner. In this role you will support the strategic planning team in the development of policies, procedures, plans and strategies to meet the Council Objectives. Working with the wider team you will ensure the Latrobe City community are informed, consulted and supportive of the strategic planning policy framework through effective liaison with all stakeholders.

Other duties will include:

- Providing research assistance to the team to support the development of key strategic policies and procedures
- Assist in the development of planning policies, dissemination of information and evaluation of land use issues within Latrobe.
- Assist in the development and management of specific Land Use Strategies

**About You**

This position is an excellent opportunity for graduate or someone commencing their career in planning. You will have a commitment to providing excellent customer service to both our internal departments and our external customers, consultants, and government agencies. We are seeking someone with demonstrated experience in time management, excellent organisational skills and the ability to research and investigate as required for planning matters.

**You will need**:

- A relevant Tertiary Degree in Planning would be highly regarded
- Experience in urban and regional planning at the local government level is desirable
- Understanding of planning, including planning and Environment Act 1987 and the planning scheme Amendment Process
- Knowledge and experience of a range of matters relating to Urban and Regional Planning, including those specific to strategic land use planning.
