**Position Overview**:
As a Handy Person, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the physical integrity of our pub. Your primary responsibilities will include stock organisation and control, performing routine maintenance tasks, addressing repairs promptly, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and functionality of the premises. This position requires a proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving, as well as strong communication skills to liaise effectively with management and staff.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct routine inspections of the premises to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.
- Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks, including but not limited to carpentry, and painting.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and management, prioritizing urgent issues to minimize disruption to operations.
- Assist with stock receival, invoice accuracy, stock rotation and returns. Maintain organisation of storage areas.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels at all times.
- Collaborate with external contractors as needed for specialized repairs or projects.
- Uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the pub, including regular cleaning of common areas, restrooms, and outdoor spaces.
- Assist with set-up and breakdown of furniture, equipment, and decorations for events and functions.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials and compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or safety concerns to management immediately.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by communicating effectively with colleagues and providing support as needed.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Proven experience in a similar maintenance role, preferably in a hospitality or commercial setting.
- Beer line cleaning knowledge will be advantageous, but not essential.
- Strong knowledge of general maintenance techniques and practices
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Commitment to upholding health and safety standards.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g., trade qualifications) are advantageous but not essential.

**Working Conditions**:

- Full-time position, 5 days a week, available weekends and evenings if required.
- Work environment includes indoor and outdoor spaces, with exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions.
- Physical requirements may include lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and operating machinery and power tools.
- Occasional travel may be required for procurement of supplies or coordination with external vendors.
