Be Recruitment are looking for an experienced Domestic Violence Caseworker to join a reputable Not for Profit organisation.

This role will provide specialist casework and support services to single women and families, especially women and children who have experienced domestic violence.

Case management is provided to clients accommodated in the refuges or transitional or medium-term housing options. Some case management is with clients who are living independently and in need of more intensive ongoing support.

This position holds more responsibility than staff case workers, and offers support based on experience to other case workers in the team. This role will also manage the crisis accommodation.

The role:

- Ensuring responses to clients are trauma-informed, client-centred and strengths based
- In-depth intake assessment and ongoing intensive case management of referrals of clients and their children for legal, psychological, health, housing, income maintenance, immigration and safety issues moving women towards independent living
- Providing guidance and support to casework staff in relation to assessment, ongoing case management and courses of action to be taken, including referrals
- Induction and settling in of clients into each refuge
- Developing strong referral networks, for example, with local services
- Collaborating with senior management around performance and service delivery issues
- Providing daily updates to senior management, communicating any issues affecting the team
- Case management of clients, particularly those with more complex needs
- Rostered on-call services
- Cultivate stakeholder relationships with private rental agents
- Developing referral pathways into the private rental market and other housing options and opportunities
- As required, accompanying caseworkers at initial home visits

**Requirements**:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Strong assessment and case management skills
- Excellent time management, organisational and administrative skills
- Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and prioritise
- Comprehensive knowledge of welfare and housing systems, particularly as they relate to homelessness and risk of homelessness, domestic violence and child protection
- Demonstrated understanding of legal processes in welfare, family law and AVO proceedings
- Demonstrated experience of working with clients with complex needs, including mental health, drug and alcohol misuse, experience of domestic violence
- Demonstrated interest in working in a women’s service, assisting women and children
- Current driver’s licence
- Working with Children Check
