Trade Assistant

Hire Depot - Trade Assistant - Permanent role.

A reputable equipment hire depot based in Fairfield requires a trade assistant, to join their friendly team.

The Trades Assistant is responsible for assisting the branch mechanic with preparation, maintenance, and repair of all equipment.

They report directly to the Workshop Manager (WM) and take instruction day to day from the branch mechanic.

The work week is generally split between the workshop (including hospital bay), wash bay and occasionally, visits to site in t vehicles to attend to faulty/damaged equipment on site.

Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Ensuring all customer requirements are met daily by prioritising preparation of popular equipment, or equipment low on stock.
- Carrying out minor maintenance on company vehicles if and as directed (e.g., tyre pressure checks, refilling fluids)
- Working on all equipment to ensure it is checked, serviced, repaired and ready for hire as soon as practical
- Conducting pre-hire checks on equipment, routine and periodic servicing per procedures provided
- Working on preparation of machines for sale from stock
- Setting a high example for other staff in terms of workplace culture in line with company’s “A-team” culture
- Ensure workshop is a clean, organised and safe environment at all times

Permanent full-time position

Salary is $50-60 KPA
