School Counsellor

Situated in the Newcastle region, Belmont Christian College (NSW) is a co-educational College of over 900 students that deeply values child safety.

This newly created position is a key member of the Wellbeing Team and provides individual and whole of College (P-12) wellbeing support, initiatives and programs. They provide assessment, counselling and facilitate referrals with a range of external stakeholders to support students, their families and staff.

The successful applicant should have:

- Degree qualifications in a relevant field and/or equivalent qualifications and experience.
- Experience in assessments, counselling, referrals and case management ideally in an education setting.
- Knowledge of and a deep commitment to child safety in an education setting.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including teachers, staff, parents, and external specialists and agencies.
- First Aid certificate.

Demonstrated substantial experience in the following:

- Relating and networking
- Adapting and responding to change
- Working with people including conflict resolution
- Writing and reporting

All staff are required to be Christians, active in their local church and have a willingness to follow the College’s Codes of Conduct and child safe policies.

0.8 FTE working 5 days/week during term time (40 weeks) + 4 weeks paid annual leave + annualised salary.
