**About the role**

We are looking for an **Occupational Hygiene Technician** to join our Health Safety, Environment and Communities (HSEC) teamsupporting the **Railways Division**. Being a part of the provision and coordination of occupational hygiene services will put you at the forefront of mining technology with the once in a lifetime opportunity to work with a well established HSEC team. This role will be based at 7 Mile Dampier with opportunities to travel across the Pilbara.

This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to make a positive impact on the health profile of our workforce. Reporting to the Occupational Hygiene Advisor, you will be:

- Monitoring personal exposure (airborne contaminants, noise) as per our asset risk based monitoring plans and conducting associated data reporting
- Educating, communicating and engaging with site leaders and operational personnel
- Managing and coordinating the maintenance and calibration of monitoring equipment to NATA and Rio Tinto standards
- Conducting on site health surveillance activities (audiometric and lung function testing) as well as respiratory and hearing protection fit testing, interpreting results and investigating anomalies
- Recommending key control methods (considering the hierarchy of control) for occupational hygiene risk reduction and evaluate control effectiveness
- Undertaking potable water and legionella monitoring, facilitating occupational hygiene workplace surveys and investigating situations of occupational over-exposure

- Experience with incident investigations and risk assessment techniques
- Ability to work autonomously with strong communication, engagement and influencing skills
