We have a full-time position for a **Yard Supervisor in New South Wales**

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Yard Supervisor will work closely and communicate at a high level to support the Operations Manager to manage our yard and operations across NSW & Victoria. This includes the supervising and coordination of all fleet, HSEQ requirements, preventative maintenance, warranty service, and renovation for all buildings in the Black Diamond Fleet.

This support will have key involvement in all phases of the Yard and site Operations and Fleet. With routine monitoring and review processes put into place, this position will ensure that the Yard and Fleet are maintained efficiently. In conjunction with the Operations Manager this role is also accountable for the timeliness, quality and overall safety and budget specifications of the fleet and yard.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Ensure all yard and fleet duties are being performed at Black Diamonds safety standards
- Supervise & Motivate employees and subcontractors while in the yard to ensure all safe work practices are followed, while promoting a positive environment
- Continuously improve production/tracking methods
- Diligent on identifying any issues that arise outside the SOW
- Ensure all visitors and sub-contractors are inducted and signed onto relevant SWMS
- Provide technical support where necessary
- Communicates as required with employees, management and sales at all levels within the operation, to drive desired goals/outcomes
- Ensure work is completed on time and within budget
- Organize and co-ordinate contractors for repairs and maintenance
- Maintain stock levels of repair and maintenance materials and order as required
- Work with operations and sales to achieve client expectations
- Working with the Sydney Office to monitor yard inventory for accuracy. Ensure buildings are checked in and out using Onyx to link with Fleet Central for chargebacks to clients.
- Communicate with Operations Manager on fleet movement requirements
- Ensure packing lists, material requisitions lists and delivery dockets are used as required.
- Check the manifest against the items being dispatched and received
- Undertake defect inspections at Manufacturers to ensure they are producing units that meet Black Diamond expectations
- Advise on PO requirements for repair, service and renovation
- Work with the various branches to coordinate inter-company transport
- Make recommendations to Operations Manager where increase in labour force may be required
- This role will be a hands-on leadership role, assisting with Yard work may be required including but not limited to the following:

- Move buildings around yard including set up blocks
- Assemble and pack furniture
- Unpack buildings for cleaning
- General repairs and maintenance, i.e. fitting ACs, swapping out broken ACs, patch internal and external walls, replace damaged gutters and downpipes, roof leaks, door hardware, etc
- Prepare buildings for transit, transit braces, taping windows and lights, securing lose items
- Fit window grills and door bars
- Service calls, attend site and repair roof leaks, door hardware etc.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role
- 5+ years in the building/construction industry with knowledge of the Building Code of Australia
- Experience in the Modular Building Industry would be an asset
- Ability to execute several tasks simultaneously with a proven track record of success
- Ability to supervise contractors while fostering a continuous improvement environment.
- Understanding of HSEQ compliance and regulations in the building and construction industry.
- Effective negotiation, planning, organizing and problem-solving capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and provide recommendations on budgets and forecasts;
- Evidence of ability to manage direct resources and subcontractors including an emphasis on coaching and developing newly formed teams.
- Physically fit and capable of manual tasks
- Must be fluent in English both oral and written
- Must be able to live and work in Australia
- Manual Drivers license
- Forklift license preferable
