The Irrigation Technician assists the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent and Golf Course Superintendent with all relevant duties relating to irrigation and drainage, turf care and at times help with developing and supervising golf course maintenance employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

- Promote a professional image of Links Hope Island to internal and external customers at all times;
- To implement the consistent delivery of exceptional customer service;
- Communicating, maintaining and developing professional relationships with fellow employees and customers;
- Specialist duties, such as installation of irrigation and drainage, identification and rectification of turf pests and diseases, and specialist spraying as required;
- Responsible for record keeping of all maintenance activities;
- Operation of all aspects of the irrigation system, including pumps, modules, effluent pump and computer programming of irrigation as required;
- Operation and basic maintenance of Golf Course machinery;
- Supervision of construction projects, turf establishment, daily course set-up and conditions;
- Preparation for tournament and championship play;
- Continual improvement through ongoing training;
- Conduct duties of golf course maintenance employees, if required;
- Work closely with all departments within the operation to ensure clear and timely communication of information;
- Responsible for any other duties reasonably requested by Management from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Experience working in a similar role;
- Relevant qualifications for assistant superintendent;
- Ability to train, development and provide leadership to golf course maintenance staff;
- Ability to manage your time, with a strong operational focus;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
