**About the role**:
A highly rewarding opportunity to join Box Hill Institute as our Reconnect Case Manager

The role of the Reconnect Case Manager is to be the primary support for registered students in Box Hill Institute’s (BHI) Skills First Reconnect program.

The key outcomes of the position include:

- Student Support: Provide case management to Reconnect students, including through outreach and on campus engagement, supporting individuals address vocational and non-vocational barriers as part of re-engagement into education, training and employment pathways.
- Student Planning: Meet with Reconnect students that are part of caseload at least once per month to review and update individual Work and Learning Plans. This includes reviewing goals and aspirations that are student led. Provide counselling, information, advice and supported referral for individuals and families as required.
- Learner Outcomes: Support Reconnect students to remain engaged in and complete their education and training programs and employment placements through assertive outreach and advocacy. Work with Reconnect students around transition planning from service support to sustain success.

This position is a member of the Microcredentials, ACFE, Reconnect and LN Support (MARL) team within the Foundations Education College and works collaboratively with the Reconnect Program Coordinator, teaching centre managers and teaching/non-teaching staff to prepare students for and support them in their vocational participation.

Reconnect is a support service designed to support Victorians experiencing disadvantage, which provides one to one support to address vocational and non-vocational needs with the goal of enrolling in and sustaining an accredited study or employment pathway.

The Foundations Education College provides pre-accredited programs; reconnect; literacy and numeracy support (LN Support); microcredentials; and the teaching and learning enhancement.
- This opportunity is full time, fixed term until December 2024. Salary is PACCT 5 $70,012 per annum (exclusive of superannuation).**About You**:

- Relevant degree level qualification in Youth Work, Welfare, Counselling, or equivalent
- Demonstrated and considerable experience in working to provide counselling, welfare, Youth Work or similar professional supports to young people or educational support to young people or other vulnerable student groups, including the ability to provide individual support and advocacy on their behalf
- Capacity to deal confidently, courteously and confidentially with people at all levels and from diverse backgrounds, and a commitment to providing a high level of customer care in a student support role
- High standard of verbal and written communication and ability to organise information, maintain and manage student records and reporting, and have proficient skills in the use of Microsoft Office programs
