**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**:
A Trainer with Full Stop Australia (FSA) will provide excellent quality professional development programs to organisational staff and to external agencies.

**POSITION RELATIONSHIPS**

Team: Training & Professional Services

Position Reporting To: Head of Training and Consulting Services

Positions reporting to this Position: Nil

**ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT**

FSA is committed to upholding the rights of all women to live in a socially just and equitable society and the right of all people to live free of violence. The organisation provides services nationally and internationally in the areas of sexual assault and domestic violence.

The organisation works with all stakeholders in accordance with its vision, mission, principles and goals.

**KEY** ACCOUNTABILITIES **AND** **WORK** PERFORMED**
- Provide, in accordance with the Service’s Code of Ethics and contemporary professional standards, excellent quality training and professional development.
- Meet statutory obligations as a Mandatory Reporter in cases of children and young people at risk of harm.
- Ensure that work is carried out to a high standard of professionalism, efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy, timeframes are met, and participants’ confidentiality is maintained according to policy.
- Attend and actively participate in mentoring and supervision to continuously improve the quality of training and professional development events provided.
- Comply with information collection, quality improvement, risk management procedures, record keeping and administrative practices of the organisation.
- Ensure all documentation is concise, legible, secure and available to colleagues as appropriate within the organisation.
- Abide by workplace practices.
- Comply with the Confidentiality Policy and Copyright Agreement.
- Ensure work practices are ethical and comply with the FSA Code of Ethics and the code of the Australian Psychological Society, the Australian Association of Social Workers or the Counsellors and Psychotherapists Association.

**MAJOR CHALLENGES OR CONSTRAINTS**
- Must have availability to deliver a minimum of three training sessions per year and attend trainer meetings every two months.
- Ability to ascertain the level of participant knowledge and alter the pitch of training being delivered.
- Provide excellent quality training and professional development that contain highly sensitive material, whilst safe guarding the wellbeing of participants.
- Maintaining awareness of current research and events in relation to the training content.

**DECISION MAKING**

The Trainer is a professional with experience in their vocation. They will be responsible for making appropriate ethical judgements in their work. Regular supervision will be provided.

**INTERACTION AND COMMUNICATION**

The role will involve using high-level verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate, influence others and build relationships with clients.

- Sensitivity and ability to adapt teaching styles to participants within various contexts.
- Demonstrated ability to incorporate feminist perspectives within training programs.
- Social Work, Psychology, Education, Counselling degree or equivalent.
- For clinical trainers, a minimum 3 years experience in a direct therapeutic service delivery role for people who have been traumatised, and for prevention trainers, 3 years relevant behaviour change through education experi
