**Summary of the role**:

- The Work Health and Safety Manager works closely with managers and staff at Aged Care Homes in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne to ensure that that safety management systems are working effectively. The role is supported by the Work Health and Safety Team who work across all areas of Mercy Health providing high quality safety expertise.
- This is a permanent full time role
- Working at aged care homes located in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne
- Responsible for coordinating health & safety activities within the facilities ensuring identification and control of hazards, prevention of injuries to staff and the maintenance of a safe environment.
- Oversight with the implementation of management systems across Mercy Health Aged Care to ensure facilities are maintaining a safe working environment.
- Be involved in developing and reviewing procedures manuals and related documentation.
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure completion of required training and education activities

**ABOUT YOU**:

- A tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety
- A minimum of five years health and safety experience
- Experience in the health, aged care of community care sector will be highly regarded
- Knowledge of legislation and standards relevant for the health care sector
- High standard of verbal and written communication skills
