In this role you will drive content creation across all of HSBC Australia’s businesses and functions. Delivering an integrated internal communications programme that connects HSBC Australia’s and New Zealand bank-wide employees with the bank’s ambitions and strategy as well as increasing the profile of HSBC Australia to key internal senior stakeholders within the wider HSBC Group. You will play a vital role in executing an external corporate communications plan in support of HSBC Australia’s corporate sustainability programme, its ambition as an employer of choice and to reinforce its position as a leading international bank.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and execute a two-way communications programme and engaging content involving video that ensures our teams feel connected to our strategy and thematic priorities; and for staff to feel that their feedback is being acted on. Deliver internal content, campaigns, and news to our HSBC Australia and HSBC New Zealand employees. Support and execute events, whether they are internal for our executives, external for the media - both virtually and in-person as part of our leadership communications efforts
- Create multi-media content - for social media and internal channels
- Support with our media relations activities: help with media targets, build media relationships, train our spokespeople and create media stories, briefs and speeches for our executive with an emphasis on our three key themes (being an employer of choice, internationalism, and corporate sustainability)
- Working with Head of Communications and the Head of Corporate Sustainability to develop a communications programme and editorial calendar that explains HSBC’s corporate sustainability position, goals and approach to corporate stainability, and promotes how we are acting on our promises. The work will complement the activity that happens with our wholesale business which is more client and deal focused.
- Working with Head of Communications and HSBC Australia’s Chief of Staff in elevating HSBC Australia’s connection with key political and business councils
- Working with the Head of Communications, to create and execute a programme of external engagements for the Australian and New Zealand CEOs with an emphasis on our three thematic priorities (employer of choice, internationalism, and corporate sustainability). This can include the writing of speeches, opinion articles, internal notes, social media. The output will ensure a strong share of voice in Australian media and strong engagement on social media.
Requirements

**Requirements**:

- Knowledge and experience working in the financial services industry is an advantage.
- Exceptional content skills: storytelling, proven ability to produce clear, engaging written content and an ability to create visual/animated/multimedia and social media content
- Multi-media skills including video editing, social media content creation and experience using Canva is an advantage
- Experience in corporate communications, media relations, PR, employee communications or content roles at an agency or in-house is a must.
- Experience with Australian journalists/media is an advantage, including dealing with crises, supporting with proactive media relations activity, and social media management is a plus.
- Proven ability to deal with ambiguity, a matrixed organisation and high-pressure situations with deadlines is essential.
- Strong presentation and communication skills are a must.
- The ability to influence, engage and negotiate with senior stakeholders is advantageous.
