The Associate Research Fellow will be part of a team dedicated to the development and delivery of novel digital psychosocial interventions to improve mental health. They will have the opportunity to assist in the coordination of research trials to evaluate and inform new digital psychoeducation and psychotherapy interventions as well as to use their skills as a psychologist to facilitate individual online guidance and group-based interventions.

The Associate Research Fellow will work on current trials tailored to people with affective disorders and their family and friends and be encouraged to develop their own research interest and potential in a supportive environment. They will also gain experience and assist in the supervision of research assistants and psychosocial intervention facilitators on the team.

Working with the support and direction from the chief investigators the incumbent will contribute to psychosocial intervention development, delivery and clinical trial coordination in accordance with good clinical practice (GCP) guidelines and National Health and Medical Research National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Research Involving Humans standards.

**Key selection criteria for this role**:

- Relevant PhD / doctoral qualification in psychology, psychiatry or mental health related area
- Registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a sound knowledge of current psychotherapy principles and practices.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to high-quality digital content designed to improve mental health
- An understanding of GCP and NHMRC research guidelines for clinical trials.
- Previous experience in working on clinical trials (preferably investigator-initiated trials), and in doing clinical work with people with mental health problems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues and excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated sensitivity and respect for research project participants, and ability to communicate well with them, stakeholders and funding organisations.
- Demonstrated skills in the recruitment of participants, and data collection, database creation, and data entry and analysis using Microsoft Office and statistical programs.
- Demonstrated organisational skills including the ability to maintain a high standard of data record keeping and to meet competing deadlines.

- Developing early career research plan with guidance from mentors and supervisors
- Adopting a culture of research excellence, innovation and impact
