**POSITION **- Deliver a risk based Internal Audit Plan and conduct
**OBJECTIVES**:Internal Audit across the organisation
- Lead the design and implementation of an enterprise-wide

approach to risk management to support sound decision
- making processes
- Be a strong influence in the driving of an enabling risk

management culture
- Manage the assurance framework, including monitoring

and reporting
- Assess and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of

Internal Controls
- Support the Audit and Risk Committee of Council in

consultation with the Presiding Member and CEO

governance to support compliance with statutory and

policy obligations

**KEY **_Audit _**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Deliver a three-year rolling Internal Audit Plan

including preparation of audit scopes, audit reports and

regular reporting on progress of the Internal Audit Plan

to the Executive Group and Audit and Risk Committee
- Assess and report on the delivery of management

actions resulting from audit findings and

recommendations
- Where required, liaise with external resources to

facilitate the delivery of internal audits in accordance

with the Internal Audit Plan
- Facilitate the External Audit process with the appointed

External Auditor
- Administer the internal controls monitoring and review

process

**_Risk Management _**
- Manage the Risk Management Framework, including

risk management policies and procedures
- Provide organisational advice, support and guidance on

risk management and assurance
- Prepare and present Executive and Council reporting

**_Audit and Risk Committee _**
- Support the Audit and Risk Committee of Council to

ensure delivery of the requirements of the Terms of

Reference, including but not limited to, the

development of a meeting schedule, preparation and

presentation of Committee Reports, attendance at

meetings and follow up of actions in response to

resolutions

- Provide relevant and facilitative secretarial services and

support to the Audit and Risk Committee

**Governance**
- Administer policies and procedures relevant to

governance, audit and risk, and provide advice and
- Other duties as required to support the Divisional

Manager Governance.

**WHS **- Observe and comply with all health and safety policies

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
and procedures within the City of Salisbury including all

safe operating procedures or instructions.
- Take all reasonable steps to ensure personal safety and

that of others is not put at risk through any act or

omission in relation the above.
- Report any identified hazards, incidents including near

misses or injuries which arise in the course of work, using

the systems and/or documentation available for such

reporting.
- Fulfil individual requirements to meet any documented

WHS objectives arising from biannual performance and

development reviews.
- Not endanger personal safety or that of others by

undertaking work whilst under the influence of alcohol or

a drug in breach of Council’s Drug and Alcohol Policy.
- Undertake WHS training where required, in order to

perform duties (refer to WHS Competency Assessment).
