**Role**:
Attendance during school term breaks may be required through liasison with teh Principal on a needs basis and with notice.

An education support class position at this range will perform tasks that are carried out in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice, and school policy under supervision and direction. This may include coordination of other education support class staff within the work area or educational program.

A role at this range may include:
Work with the Principal Team and Business Manager to ensure that the school's grounds and buildings are well maintained and presented and that all work undertaken complies with statutory obligations and Department Standards.

Communicate effectively and develop a good working relationship with staff members and contractors.

Attend weekly Admin meetings and be an active participant in the Admin Team.

Observe and ensure compliance of OHS policies/procedures in regard to the maintenance shed and all school facilities.

Work flexibly and reliably within tight timelines and with mínimal direction in a team environment.

Maintain gardens and ovals to a specific expectation. We have a regular gardener who will continue with mowing and light pruning. The upkeep and appearance of the surrounds is an important part of the role.

All trees are to be monitored, work closely with the OH & S Manager regarding any plants or trees of concern.

Basic service of garden equipment.

Maintain and clean-up rubbish on grounds, empty rubbish bins, clean graffiti off walls (inside and outside of buildings) in a timely manner, unblocking of toilets.

Small painting jobs, minor repairs and maintenance.

Manage the use and maintenance of equipment within the work area and keep workshop tidy.

Work with hand tools and light machinery.

Some outside of normal hours may be required

Assist with evacuations/lockdowns/emergency management if required.

Perform regular inspections and report outcomes to the Principal Team.

Ensure security measures are maintained within the work area and school at all times.

Assist with set up and pack up of events such as but not limited to BBQ/Sausage sizzle, Information Nights & Graduation

An education support class position at this range commencing at the base will initially be limited to undertaking routine tasks that are carried out under close supervision and direction. Work that carries some degree of independence will generally involve a limited number of tasks performed on a regular basis where priorities are clear, procedures are well established, and direction is readily available. Subject to any specific qualification and/or training requirement, an education support class employee employed in this range may be progressively required to undertake coordination, specialised student/teacher support tasks, or technical tasks as experience in the role is gained.

- Ensure security is maintained within a work area.
- Manage procedures relating to the hiring of school buildings and equipment in accordance with school policy.
- Manage procedures relating to the maintenance of specialist collections, e.g. library resource material and collections.
- Evaluate and select equipment and materials and make recommendations to senior management.
- Develop procedures relating to the use and maintenance of equipment and materials.
- Coordinate the purchase of equipment and materials.
