**Vicar / Associate Priest, Parish of St Paul, Manuka, Canberra**

The Parish of Manuka, Canberra, (Diocese of Canberra-Goulburn) seeks an experienced priest with initiative and creativity, to serve as associate vicar.

Having experienced significant growth and change in the last 5 years, we are looking for a priest to support the Rector and ministry team meet the increasing pastoral, evangelistic / catechetical and general ministry needs of the Parish.

We are seeking a generalist priest who has gifts of service in preaching, liturgical leadership, teaching and community building.

We also seek someone with eagerness and capacity to contribute to the Parish’s ministry and mission strategy, with capacity to fully contribute to the senior leadership of the parish in collaboration with other clergy, the Executive and staff, under the leadership of the Rector.

The position is full-time. Accommodation is provided on site. We are prepared to discuss possibilities for visa assistance and relocation allowance where appropriate.

**JOB DESCRIPTION - VICAR**

The Vicar will be a collaborative member of the Parish ministry team, acting under the

authority of and in support of the Rector.

The Vicar’s duties, framed by the general calling and ministry of a priest as

articulated in the ordinal, shall include_:_
- sharing the cure of souls with the Rector and other members of the ministry team
- the administration of the sacraments, preaching, and officiating at pastoral offices,
- singing evensong and presiding at sung and solemn eucharists
- praying the daily office with the parish clergy at St Paul’s and other collegial gatherings with parish clergy
- identifying lay leaders and equipping them for ministries
- identifying and developing opportunities for learning, formation and discipleship
- engagement and follow up with new parishioners and children’s choir families
- participation in leading offerings in the Christian Education Programme
- other reasonable duties as required by the Rector

Pay: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
