**Who you'll be working with**

During your apprenticeship, you'll be employed by us, while completing on-the-job training with Host Employer, **South32 Illawarra Metallurgical Coal**.

During your apprenticeship we'll provide you with ongoing mentoring and support to help you achieve your career goals and unleash your true potential.

**What you'll be doing**

You will complete a Certificate III Electrotechnology or Certificate III Engineering Mechanical over 4 years through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience.

Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:

- Perform planned maintenance and breakdown repairs of diesel mining equipment;
- Read electrical and mechanical diagrams, drawings or specifications to determine job requirements;
- Test for, locate and repair electrical & mechanical faults;
- Repair and maintain existing mining equipment.

**What you'll bring to the table**

To be successful in this role, you'll need to meet the following selection criteria:

- Ability to commence Apprenticeship in January 2024;
- Ability to work in a team environment;
- Commitment to full term of the apprenticeship and study requirements;
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills and knowledge;
- Demonstrated interest/passion in the trade;
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills;
- Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude;
- A current driver’s licence (provisional licence accepted);
- Access to reliable transport.
