The Adviser to the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research will provide a high level of executive support and advice to the Executive Director, Research and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research (DVCR).

An opportunity to bring your advanced executive skills and provide leadership in the development and implementation of research governance, policy, communications, planning and continuous improvement across Deakin Research.

**Your key responsibilities will include**:

- Work with units within the Division to support identified funding opportunities and develop/shepherd the development of Deakin bids
- Represent Deakin Research on various committees or working groups within and external to the Division
- Managing the co-ordination and planning of the Annual Strategic Planning process for the Division
- Investigating and providing high level, confidential advice on matters referred by the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and the Executive Director, Research Office
- Managing designated aspects of major projects relating to the Division and monitoring the outcomes
- Drafting correspondence on behalf of the Deputy Vice Chancellor Research and other Deakin Research Senior Leaders
- Maintaining flow of relevant information and updates to and from the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research
- Preparing and coordinating briefing papers, committee papers, reports, submissions and other documentation for and on behalf of the Deputy Vice Chancellor Research and the Executive Director, Research Office.

**To be successful, you’ll have**:

- Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience, or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education /training
- Experience handling matters appropriately to maintain and enhance the professionalism of the Executive member’s office
- Experience in administration and related activities in a large organisation with complex administrative structures
- Extensive experience in drafting policy, position papers, reports, briefings, submissions, committee papers and other relevant documentation
- Extensive experience in building effective networks within a large organisation and with relevant government officials and others in positions of influence and within the higher education sector
- Experience in project delivery within large complex organisations
- Experience managing a range of stakeholders to achieve project outcomes
