Keysborough Secondary College is a multi-campus school with one campus in Keysborough (Acacia Campus) and one in Springvale South (Banksia Campus). Both campuses offer programs for students in years 7-12 with an organisational structure arranged around Junior and Senior sub-schools.

Keysborough Secondary College has undergone an extensive renewal program with the construction of two Junior Village neighbourhoods, a Senior Village neighbourhood, and a purpose-built STEM Centre on each Campus. Construction or refurbishment of a Food Technology, The Arts and Technology Centre on each campus has also been completed. The final stage has been completed for the new Administration Centre on the Banksia Campus and the refurbishment of the Music area at the Acacia Campus.

**Role**:
Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance / Gardener will work in a small team to maintain the general appearance of the college grounds, including building maintenance, gardening maintenance, mowing and yard sweeping. The successful applicant will have the capacity to undertake minor maintenance tasks, including repairs to toilets, fixtures and fittings, moving of furniture etc.

A positive can-do attitude is favourable and the ability to value and follow department OH&S procedures are necessary. Remuneration is in line with the department's Education Support Class Salaries, Level 1, Range 2 commencing at $56,019 per annum (VGSA2022).

An education support class position at this range commencing at the base will initially be limited to undertaking routine tasks that are carried out under close supervision and direction. Work that carries some degree of independence will generally involve a limited number of tasks performed on a regular basis where priorities are clear, procedures are well established, and direction is readily available. Subject to any specific qualification and/or training requirement, an education support class employee employed in this range may be progressively required to undertake coordination, specialilsed student/teacher support tasks, or technical tasks as experience in the role is gained.

**Responsibilities**:
The responsibilities of this position will be:

- Opening and closing college on rotation at the start and end of the school day
- Assist with general grounds and maintenance tasks as required as part of the Grounds and Maintenance Team
- Maintain all garden beds and grassed areas including weeding, mulching, fertilising, planting out and replacing foliage as necessary and at required times
- Undertake general maintenance and minor building works
- Manage the use and maintenance of equipment within a work area
- Check of college grounds to ensure the grounds and areas are safe
- Maintain storage facilities in a clean, tidy and hygienic manner
- Work through a schedule of regular tasks and maintenance audits
