Seeking a Medical Oncologist to support our patients with genitourinary cancer including their participation in clinical trials. Integrated healthcare organisation based at Macquarie University (North Ryde)

THE ROLE- Part time (0.4FTE) position based at Macquarie University - 3 year contract (with potential to extend)- Competitive base salary, one of the highest private hospital rates in NSW- Be part of a university owned, innovative academically integrated healthcare organisation where professional development, ongoing education and career progression are supported and encouraged.

The Role- Be a Principal Investigator on Phase I to IV clinical trials- Work alongside other medical oncologists and cancer specialists, including a dynamic genitourinary multi-disciplinary team.- Be actively engaged with the overall activity of the Clinical Trials Unit.- Collaborate with groups across MQ Health to participate in research projects- Be exposed to a wide range of cancer cases- Supervise and train students, registrars and other Doctors in Training- Contribute to educational activities with MQ Health

About you:
You will be a qualified Medical Oncologist with a passion for clinical trials and genitourinary oncology. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and a proven commitment to education and research. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have excellent time management skills.

Clinical Trials Unit

provides patients with a wide range of disease with opportunities to access to cutting-edge therapies and investigations. Our team of 45 support hundreds patients in over 100 oncology trials including phase I and first in human trials. To Apply

To be considered for this position, you will demonstrate the below requirements in your CV and a 1-2 page cover letter:
- Current registration as a medical practitioner in Australia (or ability to obtain - including English language requirements) and a fellowship into the relevant specialist College or Faculty.- Demonstrated experience in Oncology, including highly developed skills in clinical trials.- Demonstrate experience in genitourinary cancers- Completion or near completion of a PhD or equivalent in a relevant area.- Demonstrated understanding of the patients’ perspective and ability to communicate key information to the patient and carers.- Demonstrated interest and aptitude for one or more of the following activities: supervision of students; or delivery of educational activities; or research.- Demonstrated high level understanding of the discipline including major international trends, recent developments and improvements.- A strong commitment to multidisciplinary approaches to clinical care and ability to work as part of a team.
