Brefni Pty Ltd is looking for a competent individual to fill the role of Quantity Surveyor on a permanent, full-time basis.

**Key responsibilities**:

- **Contract Administration. **Act as Brefni’s gatekeeper of contract risk, alerting and liaising with project teams and senior management to actively manage contract risk.
- **Cash management and optimisation. **Submit progress claims on time with a focus on maximising income. Invoice agreed on claims and ensure cash is collected from clients. Prepare and track long-term project cash forecasts, monitor results and interpret reasons for deviation. Identify and manage cash flow risks.
- **Cost Control. **Assist Project Manager set up the budget prior to commencement and approved by senior management. Assist Project Manager to establish baseline cost forecast and approved by senior management. Reconcile data from the Accounts Department with site records.
- **Risk & Opportunity. **Liaise with the project team to develop and maintain a tracker of risks and opportunities.
- **Progress Reporting / Financial Reporting on Projects. **Liaise with Project Manager to prepare monthly financial reports. Ensure monthly project financial reports are issued on time. Ensure compliance with project financial reporting rules.
- **Change management. **Follow change management procedures and ensure projects are recording the impact of changes.
- **Negotiation and dispute resolution. **Preparation of variations/claims/ EOTs as needed. Liaise with Commercial Manager and project team where necessary. Ensure compliance with the Security of Payment Act (upstream with clients and downstream with subcontractors).
- **Procurement. **Prepare and manage the procurement schedule for the project. Identify and manage any potential procurement risks and opportunities for the project. Negotiate suppliers’ terms and conditions.
- **Health, Safety and Environment. **Proactively deal with HSE and concerns, by engaging with the people performing the task or activity.

**Qualifications and experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying)
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving.
- A strong work ethic, great organisational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines within a fast-paced working environment.
- Understanding of current building, health and safety regulations.
- Computer literacy and confidence using Microsoft Office and electronic project management programs.
- Excellent customer service skills, including high-level verbal and written communication, and strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Understanding of engineering science, construction and technology.
- Mathematics for calculating material quantities and construction costs.

**Salary**: $115,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
