**Role Description**:
As an HSET Advisor at GemLife, you will play a crucial role in monitoring and maintaining safety compliance on **Civil, Residential & Commercial Construction** sites across SEQ (Southeast Queensland) and Northern New South Wales, with more sites coming on stream. There is also the possibility of branching into new areas of the business that are rapidly developing.

Collaborating closely with operational teams in your designated geographical area, you will provide expert guidance and ongoing training on all matters related to health and safety. Your primary focus will be on identifying and managing risks to prevent injuries or harm to workers and the public. As an integral part of the HSET team, you will ensure that our safety policies, procedures, and practices are not only effective and efficient but also fully compliant with the Work Health and Safety Act. **Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct thorough inspections and audits of high-risk work activities to maintain top-notch safety standards.
- Review contractor Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) to ensure strict compliance.
- Maintain effective communication with relevant stakeholders and authorities to foster a collaborative safety culture.
- Skilfully manage incidents and investigations, implementing preventive measures to safeguard the well-being of everyone involved.
- Conduct safety inductions for supervisors, providing ongoing training sessions to keep our teams at the forefront of safety knowledge.
- Deliver comprehensive data reports on findings to operational teams and senior management to drive informed decisions and enhanced safety.

**Skills and Experience**:

- A strong background in Construction Health and Safety,
- Showcase your extensive experience in conducting safety audits and inspections.
- Demonstrate your proficiency in risk management and implementing safe work practices.
- Utilize your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various stakeholders.
- Leverage your strong knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Highlight your track record in creating and implementing safety policies and procedures that deliver results.
- Emphasize your ability to build positive relationships with regulatory authorities, fostering a constructive partnership.
- Showcase your overall experience in the fundamentals of the building process.

**Certifications**: Certificate in hazard recognition and risk assessment, Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (not required if previously worked as a regulator), First Aid at Work, Chief warden certificate, Principles of OH&S management systems ISO45001 certificate, Traffic Management ticket, Fire warden certificate, Risk identification certificate, Mental health and awareness training.
