About the role:
Join our dynamic team responsible for maintaining the reliable and efficient operation of our power stations. As a Mechanical Tradesperson, your primary role will be to carry out planned routine, outage, and unplanned breakdown maintenance on essential plant and equipment crucial for achieving power station operating objectives. You'll be a vital part of various multi-disciplined work teams. Working under the guidance of a Team Leader, you'll collaborate with a diverse group of skilled professionals including electrical, mechanical, and metal fabrication tradespeople, apprentices, Production Technicians, Nominated First Aiders, Power Workers, and Assistant Team Leaders.

Key Accountabilities of this Role:
- Perform routine, outage, and unplanned breakdown maintenance tasks to ensure plant reliability and availability, contributing directly to station operating objectives.- Take ownership of plant and equipment issues by identifying and resolving problems.- Maintain and organize hand tools and trade tools used on site or in workshop areas.- Maintain work areas to high standards of safety and cleanliness.- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.- Adhere to all standards, policies, procedures, codes, and rules established or updated by AGL Macquarie.- Provide guidance and supervision to apprentices during on-the-job training.

Minimum Requirements:
- Trade Certificate in a relevant field- Experience in a similar industry or manufacturing process-related environment- Effective communication skills for technical discussions and managing conflicting demands- Strong safety record and a proactive approach to workplace safety- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-
- Capability to train and coach apprentices or newly appointed Tradespersons
