**The Role**

**APS 6 - Business Support Officer**
Maritime Division, DSTG are seeking a talented and experienced professional to join our high performing Program Delivery Team. The Business Support Officer (BSO) is accountable under broad direction to achieve administrative support work within an integrated workforce, provide support to the Senior Executive, and exercise a high degree of discretion, judgement and professionalism.

You will create and foster high functioning networks and relationships within DSTG Maritime Division and wider Defence, to ensure prompt and appropriate action is taken. The BSO will be required to identify relevant stakeholders' expectations and concerns and develop a clear understanding of the issues and solutions to achieve outcomes. You will coordinate, task, monitor and report on all incoming correspondence and taskings from multiple stakeholders on behalf of the Chief of Maritime.

You will provide detailed administration, professional and policy advice in relation to complex issues in accordance with legislative and Defence policies and instructions.

**APS 5 - Information Records Management & Administration Officer**
Within the Administration function an APS 5 Administration Officer is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve complex procedural, operational, administrative and business support work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to have and maintain a well-developed understanding of and compliance to with relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.

The APS 5 Administration Officer will be accountable for organising their workflow, making decisions within defined parameters relating to their area of responsibility and will seek guidance when required. The APS 5 Administration Officer will be required to share information, monitor work practices, set work priorities and develop local procedures. They may provide coaching and on-the-job training for newer and less experienced team members.

The APS 5 Administration Officer will be required to engage and communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.

**APS 4 - Administration Officer**
The APS 4 Administration Officer supports the critical functions of business support through the provision of a high level of administrative assistance and customer service. They will be required to have good attention to detail with the ability to adapt to competing priorities and stay focused in a fast paced and changing environment.

The role entails (but is not limited to) providing administrative support including managing, responding and resolving moderately complex tasks (seeking advice and guidance for more complex issues); meeting coordination; secretariat; domestic and international travel coordination; simple procurement; management of one or more group mailboxes, including triaging and tracking requests; training course administration; management of ICT assets disposal; facilities management support; visits and events, publications and records management.

The Administration Officer is a member of a small team, which provides shared administrative and business support functions for a division across several sites around Australia. They are required to have a good understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements.

Maritime Division is accountable for the delivery of the maritime domain innovation, science and technology program drawing on innovation from across the domestic and international innovation, science and technology enterprise.

We partner with DSTG’s S&T capability development divisions, Navy, CASG and NSSG, to deliver an integrated maritime domain program. We support the maritime Capability Programs, the national naval shipbuilding program, the nuclear powered submarine program, and Navy’s innovation programs.
