The Thrift Shop Assistant will assist in the operations of the Cranbourne Thrift Shop as a profitable business as part of the ministry of The Salvation Army Cranbourne Corps.

The Corps provides a range of ministries and services to the local community of Casey, including worship services, Community Support Services (Doorways), food distribution, discipleship groups, and activities for young children

Cranbourne Corps assists people from all walks of life but especially those experiencing disadvantage in our community. We operate from two sites - 1 New Holland Drive, and 108 Camms Road, Cranbourne.

You will successfully
- Oversight volunteers
- Help manage and maintain sorting area and regular stock rotations (including sale promotions and bales for collection)
- Maintain OH&S Policy, Procedures and Standards
- Count daily takings and balance cash float each day
- Demonstrate competence in the use of Point of Sale
- Use staff and volunteers Purchase Policy and Purchase Register is adhered to
- Follow compliance with all security measures, including securing of all money, locking doors etc.
- Ensure Shop is clean and tidy at all times - inside and outside (includes dusting, window cleaning, vacuuming, emptying bins, etc.)
- Ensure welfare referrals are dealt with discretely and with dignity
- Ensure all customers receive quality service that responds to their needs and demonstrates the TSA’s Mission and Values

This is a part time position, Saturday shift (4.5hours per week). Salary and conditions are in accordance General Retail Industry Award, Level 2.

You will have
- Retail experience is preferred
- Willingness to undergo police check
- Ability to provide proof of work eligibility in Australia- You will be required to provide evidence of vaccine status dependent on requirements
