**About the opportunity**:
Our Financial Audit division is a diverse group of approximately 80 highly motivated audit professionals, dedicated to making a difference to the Victorian Community through financial audit services.
You will be part of a supportive team committed to professional excellence that will help you build skills to advance your career.
Assistant Managers in Financial Audit are dynamic, adaptable leaders with the ability to motivate and coach others to achieve their work goals. They are responsible for the delivery of various audit services and will perform the team leader and team senior roles on selected audits, coach and mentor junior staff and contribute to business improvement initiatives.
VAGO’s Assistant Managers are innovative in their approach to work and motivated by the challenge of promoting continuous improvement in the Victorian public sector. They create opportunities for others to learn and develop, while actively pursuing their own professional development goals.
**This role will be Fixed-Term until Sept 2025.**
**About you**:
- Effectively communicates, providing clear and accurate explanations and conveying technical concepts in an easily understandable manner to a diverse range of stakeholders
- Uses initiative and sound judgement when undertaking projects and responding to and/or escalating issues
- Processes technical concepts comfortably, using analytical skills and professional scepticism to reason through problems

- A sound working knowledge of Australian Accounting and Auditing Standards, legislative and regulatory requirements.
**Experience and qualifications**:
- Holds tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Science, Technology, Economics or Mathematics
- Holds a full professional membership with CPA Australia, CAANZ or the IPA
- Experience undertaking audits or complex investigations, inquiries, or reviews
