- Anglo American Steelmaking Coal**
Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.

**Job Description**:

- Reporting to the Financial Accounting Superintendent, as the Financial Accounting Specialist you will be responsible for the financial reporting of the Steelmaking Coal business area

This role will be rewarding, varied and will include:

- Co-ordinating the group's reporting requirements with a focus on ensuring compliance with group accounting policies, IFRS and Internal Controls over Financial Reporting
- Presentation of financial information to Executive Management
- Providing quality and timely accounting advice to various stakeholders
- Significant input into the annual reports
- Development, communication and maintenance of appropriate accounting policies and procedures across the business unit

**Qualifications**:

- You will be CA/CPA qualified with a strong commercial acumen developed via relevant post-qualification experience in a large corporate environment or chartered accounting firm. Previous exposure to mining operations is valued. This role requires extensive accounting skills to provide financial advice and direction on a range of accounting issues and internal accounting policy development within the business.

As a key member of the finance team, you will be a motivated individual with strong communication, analytical and financial reporting skills. You will have the ability to work collaboratively in a team and engage effectively across all levels of the organisation in a fast paced and high performing environment. In addition you will have strong time management skills and will proactively manage tasks to ensure you are meeting agreed timeframes.
