Lab Coordinator Nursing Simulation

We are currently seeking a Nursing Simulation Lab Coordinator who will be responsible for ensuring high quality learning outcomes for students through the provision of clinical simulation laboratories in accordance with Think Education and Torrens University’s learning and assessment strategies, and industry accreditation requirements.

A simulation coordinator is in charge of a learning environment used to educate nurses at Think Education and Torrens University Australia. In a day you might set up the simulation centre, check equipment. Simulators can be human patient (like a mannequin) or audio visual equipment. Computer skills are an important part of this position as it is a very technical role. This includes an understanding of any heart rate or blood pressure monitors and other equipment used in the environment.

On a typical day in this role you will:
- Support and prepare simulated clinical experiences according to program requirements.- Ensure laboratory equipment reflects current best practice through identification of new equipment available for learning and advising Line Manager.-
- Ensure all equipment is maintained according to manufacturers’ guidelines.- Engage with manufacturers for up-to-date information on their products and for refresher and upgrade training on new models.- Set up and prepare equipment for the delivery of educational activities scheduled in the various simulated laboratories.- Ensure simulation laboratories adhere to OH&S regulations and accreditation Standards.- Manage quality and risk assessment in laboratories.

This is a permanent position based at Surry Hills Campus Sydney.

Who you are- Medical background having worked in the hospital environment as a lab technician OR Experience as an enrolled nurse (EN) OR 3 years’ experience as an assistant in nursing (AIN)- Working with Children Check (WWCC) required- Preferred demonstrated experience in the HE/VET sector Advanced organisational skills and attention to detail-
- High level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skill- Satisfactory computer literacy and simulation technology skill- Qualification in relevant health industry or lab technician
