G.James Glass & Aluminium is looking for a full-time Mechanical Engineering Technician working in Melbourne from Monday to Friday only. The annual wage will be $80,000 plus 11% superannuation.

As the Mechanical Engineering Technician, you will be responsible and required conduct tests of mechanical systems, collect and analyse data, and assemble / install mechanical assemblies in support of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists on a full time basis. This role will have you providing key support, maintenance repairs and servicing of the plant, machinery and equipment at our new state-of-the-art automated manufacturing facility, located in Campbellfield, Melbourne.

**This is a hand-on position. To be successful in this role you will**:

- Experience with PLC’s, SCADA, VSD’s and instrumentation
- Strong diagnostic skills and dealing with breakdowns.
- Knowledge of CMMS ideally MEX
- Performing and directing field and laboratory tests
- Analytically strong and able to fault find in a complex Industry 4.0 automated glass processing factory
- Preparing drawings, plans and designs for mechanical engineering work under the direction of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists
- Experience maintenance functions such as equipment repair, failure analysis to root cause and preventative maintenance
- Proven ability to interpret technical manuals and electrical drawings
- Adherence and focus on Health, Safety and Environment standards
- Strong Team approach working alongside both Operational/Engineering staff and management team
- Estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements
- Advanced communication skills
- Collecting and analysing data, carrying out complex computations and preparing diagrams
- Knowledge preferable with Beckhoff PLC's and Lenze drives and motors
- Troubleshooting experience gained in a glass production / manufacturing environment

**Requirements**:

- Hold at least an AQF Diploma or higher qualification with 2 years’ experience or at least 3 years relevant experience will be mandatory
- Minimum 5 years working knowledge of Lisec glass processing equipment both electrically and mechanically including operational software systems (Essential)
