**The Role**

The Operations Manager - Ambient is the linchpin of our logistics operations, responsible for safety, performance, resourcing, and team leadership within our ambient operations. This pivotal role ensures seamless coordination of all activities and resources, driving towards our collective goals of maximised profitability, business efficiency, and an unwavering focus on customer satisfaction (DIFOT).

Success in this role hinges on exemplary leadership, meticulous planning, and the ability to inspire, coach, and hold team members accountable. This position is instrumental in hitting daily KPIs, implementing process improvements, and rallying support from other functional leads.

**Primary Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Champion a customer-centric mindset in all team activities, ensuring customer service excellence is at the heart of every decision.
- Set and uphold gold-standard benchmarks for operational excellence, optimising resources for peak efficiency.
- As a key member of the site leadership team, inspire and lead by setting high standards and behaviours, enforcing accountability through appropriate disciplinary actions in collaboration with the State Manager and People team.
- Foster a culture of Continuous Improvement, constantly seeking innovative ways to boost productivity and safety.
- Strategically plan, coordinate, and direct Operations Managers & Supervisors in daily workflow management, ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and achievement of timeframes, productivity targets, and other KPIs set by the BU.
- Make informed and prompt decisions on day-to-day operational matters within your purview, following delegated authority.
- Direct, coordinate, and deploy resources (labour, equipment) effectively to meet operational, productivity, commercial, and customer needs.
- Implement labour cost management strategies (e.g., work hours and time approval for team members), ensuring adherence to budget and optimised productivity.
- Manage team performance, conduct, productivity issues, absenteeism, and leave requirements, consulting with relevant stakeholders as needed.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and support to Managers & Supervisors on performance and disciplinary matters.
- Lead and actively participate in toolbox sessions, driving meaningful discussions.
- Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders (other Supervisors and Managers) to meet and exceed expectations and plans.
