The opportunity- Opportunity to work for a leading Global Insurer.- This is a high-visibility role that will interact with senior level stakeholders along with divisional finance teams to understand key business drivers and inform a robust and consistent Group planning / forecasting process.

Your new role

This role in the Group Financial Planning & Analysis team will be responsible for analysing data and providing key insights into the Group’s planning and forecasting of various P&L and insurance metrics. This role will assist in the production of reports to senior stakeholders such as the Group CFO and CEO, GEC and the Board to support effective decision making by the wider business. Importance will be placed on the quality of these reports in being able to effectively present clear and concise messaging in a visually intuitive format.

You will also;- Assess and challenge the estimated revenue and profitability of divisional plan and forecast submissions while considering market conditions and Group risk appetite- Business partner with divisional planning teams to develop knowledge of products that are underwritten and the market dynamics that affect them- Support the Manager and Head of Group Planning in expansive strategic analyses on catastrophe exposure, reinsurance, portfolio optimisation and earnings volatility and performing ad hoc duties- Being a key user and custodian of the Hyperion planning system and the data it holds, provide support to further improve and develop its capabilities- Work continually with divisions to improve the quality and detail of data provided to Group within and outside system submissions- Maintain a productive working relationship between Group teams (Finance, Actuarial, Investments, Underwriting, Risk, Reinsurance) and play an active role in cultivating an Enterprise mindset with divisional teams- Utilise strong Excel skills, commercial acumen and insurance knowledge to assist the Manager in developing simple analytical models- Promote a strong risk culture, proactively and extensively review own and others’ work to ensure accuracy

About you

To be successful as the Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst you will extensive experience within in accounting or actuarial role, ideally in the insurance or financial services industry.

You will also have;- Commercially aware and financially astute mindset, understanding of how specific drivers impact business performance- Curiosity to learn and develop technical knowledge of financial and insurance concepts and reporting requirements as well as on QBE’s structure, strategy and operations- Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders across the Group- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability with an ability to work systematically through complex matters and positively influence outcomes- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under time pressure and meet deadlines with mínimal guidance- Strong proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint, PowerBI experience is particularly advantageous; capability to develop similar proficiency in other new systems and tools
