Our client, DA & S Chisholm require an experienced Farm Worker to assist in the running of their farm operations in southern NSW.

The employer requires someone with experience and knowledge of beef cattle, artificial insemination, general farming operations and who has the ability to execute farm program as instructed by the Farm Manager/owner.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

- general farm activities such as erecting and repairing fences, maintaining and cleaning livestock infrastructure and assets, operating water supply and pasture management;
- maintain the health and welfare of livestock and implement livestock feeding and welfare programs including birthing and rearing of young livestock, herding and droving livestock and animal husbandry;
- establish and manage pastures and crops ;
- administer artificial Insemination programs ;
- ensure all occupational health and safety procedures are followed and adhere to any quality assurance and training programs directed to undertake by farm Management;
- loading and unloading seed grain, fertilisers and livestock feed, and loading produce into transporters;
- undertake activities to minimise environmental degradation; and
- entry of farming information and data into computer programs

Skills required:

- Ability to work unsupervised and under pressure in remote areas
- At least two years of experience working with artificial insemination procedures & livestock breeding program
- at least two years experience in farming operation
- Flexible attitude to work hours and conditions
- current drivers licence (truck licence required)
- Computer knowledge

This role is physically demanding and employees are often required to work in extreme weather conditions and outside standard hours of work dependent upon seasonal priorities.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
