Toowoomba Grammar School is looking for a passionate, knowledgeable and dynamic Vocal and Piano Tutor to join our team of highly skilled, tight knit team of musical tutors. TGS staff are passionate about boys’ education and providing an inspiring and broad curriculum for all boys informed by best practice and evidence.

**About Toowoomba Grammar School**

Toowoomba Grammar School was founded in 1875. It is an independent non-denominational day and boarding school for boys with a total enrolment of 1,200 from Preparatory to Year 12. There are approximately 300 boarders in the School coming predominantly from throughout Queensland, Northern New South Wales and the Northern Territory. The School’s campus covers 20.5 hectares and is located one kilometre from the centre of Toowoomba.

**About the Position**

The Vocal and Piano Tutor will be responsible for delivering high quality tuition to individuals to all ages and abilities with learning always being differentiated. You are supported by our own resources and equipment - but teachers often use their own resources in addition. This role is for someone who wants a career in music teaching with opportunities to grow and develop.

Integral to this role will be your ability to share in our ethos of creating bespoke, individualised and tailored music education to our students. We are seeking someone who fosters and encourages a positive approach to learning.

A minimum of AMEB grades (AMus/CMus) is preferred, you will be required to teach AMEB Classical and Contemporary (Piano for Leisure) Syllabi as well as Vocals.

**Selection Criteria**:
You will be able to demonstrate your ability and commitment to:

- being flexible and dynamic in your teaching of children so to address the individual needs of students
- adapting your teaching to cater for differing ages and abilities of children
- showing initiative and be driven to provide best practice and educational focused outcomes
- displaying highly developed communication skills and having the ability to communicate well with parents, student and staff
- using and implementing effective teaching methodologies in your instrument(s) which produces excellent results
