We have a number of vacancies for an** AOD Peer Worker** to join our team at Maryknoll Therapeutic Community on a casual basis. You can build your ideal roster as the positions work across a 24 - hour clock and may involve day, evening, weekend, sleep over and overnight stand-up work.

**The role**

As our AOD Peer Worker you will help residents in the AOD withdrawal program by sharing your lived experience of treatment and recovery from substance use.

We recognise the strength, courage, and unique perspective of people with lived experience of alcohol and other drugs and believe peer support is a powerful part of the recovery journey.

You will draw upon your own lived experience to help others and be supported by a highly skilled, multi discipline team that provide a full suite of AOD treatments.

**_ What we're looking for:_**
- Lived alcohol and drug experience, with preference to participating in treatment at an accredited Therapeutic Community.
- A minimum of 2 years successfully engaged in work, volunteering or study after graduating from an AOD residential program or other similar treatment service.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening skills and clear speaking skills, with an ability to tailor communicate style to suit the diversity of residents.
- Ability to maintain clear boundaries and engage in self-reflection.
- Completed SHARC Peer Training.
