We're seeking a Data Analyst who will support the Senior Analysts & Analytics Leads in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to advise business decisions. The role will focus on using data to drive growth and competitiveness, and deliver exceptional service to Optus' customers.

You will support in the collection and analysis of large and sophisticated datasets and in some cases will assist in the design, development and implementation of reporting and dashboards, that will provide relevant customers with up to date information on key performance indicators.

Responsibilities include:

- Data Collection and Management: collecting, organising, and maintaining large and sophisticated data sets to support decision-making and business growth.
- Reporting and Dashboard Development: designing, developing, and implementing reports and dashboards that provide relevant collaborators with up-to-date information on key performance indicators.
- Data Analysis: conducting basic data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform business decisions.
- Collaboration with Multi-functional Teams: working with multi-functional teams to understand business requirements and develop data-driven solutions to support decision-making.
- Communication of Data Insights: communicating data insights to customers in an accessible and practical manner.
- Project Implementation:participating in project planning and implementation to ensure that data and insights are integrated into key business initiatives.
- Technical Skills Development: The Data Analyst will develop and enhancing their technical skills, including proficiency in data visualization, statistical analysis, and data management.
- Mentorship and Support: You will receive mentorship and support from more senior data analysts to help them grow and develop their skills and knowledge.

**About you**:

- Tertiary qualifications in a STEM field (Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, Statistics)
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in data analysis and insights generation
- Foundational proficiency in data analysis and statistical methods using tools such as Excel or Alteryx
- Experienced in sophisticated analytical techniques such as regression analysis, hypothesis testing, clustering, and decision tree analysis
- Expertise in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, or SAS
- Foundational SQL skills and experience working with relational databases, data platforms
- Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data governance.
- Understanding of data privacy, security, and ethical considerations in data analysis
- Demonstrable ability to work with large and sophisticated data sets, and experience using data modeling techniques
- Strong business insight and understanding of the company's business objectives and how they align with data and insights initiatives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical customers.
- Solid project management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively.
- Attention to detail with the ability to carefully review and validate data and to catch and correct errors or inconsistencies
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with multi-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and recommend solutions to complex data-related issues.
