**About the role**:
**In this role, you will**:
To be successful in this role you will be required to (not limited to):

- Provide high-level leadership and strategic management direction to the Permissioning 'branch, driving excellence and innovation in environmental regulation.
- Invest in ongoing performance planning, develop managerial capability, and establish high-performance teams. Actively coach and mentor team members to realise their full potential.
- Support the Executive Director in developing and delivering strategic business plans, resource management, operational reporting, and performance evaluation.
- Foster collaboration across the organisation and with internal stakeholders to solve complex problems in line with EPA's strategic objectives and regulatory approach.
- Ensure processing teams have a comprehensive understanding of legislative changes impacting EPA operations, maintaining compliance with privacy, probity, quality, and risk-related legislation.
- Lead, develop, and manage timely processes of EPA's permission functions to support divisional objectives, deliver on KPIs, and enhance the EPA's reputation.

**Skills and experience**:
To be successful in this role, you will need:

- Demonstrated experience as a designated decision-maker or managing designated decision-makers in compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Substantial experience building and leading high-performance teams, developing professional competency, effective performance management, and coaching to realise team potential.
- Experience in leading systems, processes, and organisational change across multiple sites whilst maintaining a continuous improvement approach and focus.
- Demonstrated experience in taking a collaborative approach to complex problem solving that supports a future vision and working collaboratively across an organisation at a senior level.
- Exceptional conceptual and systematic thinking skills, with demonstrated ability to identify trends, analyse information, data, and situations, identify issues, translate policy, and assess impacts.
