**About the Role**: As a Health Practitioner (Nutrition and Dietetics) Trainee you will perform a range of clinical support activities and on the job skills development while engaged in formal full-time or part-time tertiary studies necessary to acquire the relevant entry level qualification (mandatory) for employment as a Health Practitioner in Queensland. The trainee contributes to the nutrition and dietetic service delivery model in the provision of effective patient care within Metro South Hospital and Health Service, working under the guidance and practice supervision of an allied health professional.

**Key responsibilites**:

- Perform a defined range of clinical assessment and treatment tasks as allocated by the Allied Health professional and work under their supervision.
- Provide safe, patient-centred and compassionate care considering each patient's psychological, social, emotional, spiritual and physical care.
- Communicate effectively with all members of the interprofessional team using negotiation and conflict resolution as required. Use effective communication skills to contribute to consumer care and progress, including relevant clinical documentation.
- Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
