**Reporting**
This position reports to the Sports Administrator and Technical Football Director.
**Overview**
Green Gully Soccer Club is recruiting for a head coach who will work within our club as a coach, coaching our u18s team and working as senior video analyst of recordings from our matches and practices, and overseeing the technical football programme in our junior NPL system. In doing so they will create a sustainable system that provides our younger players and other coaches with support whilst developing the future of talented up-and-coming footballers in the club. Additionally, they will work closely with our senior Management to foster development of players through our junior programme and into the senior environment.
**Required Qualifications**:
Bachelor’s degree in Sports Coaching and Management from a university or equivalent.
**Responsibilities**
1. Coaching our U18s as head coach, and assistant coach with our u8s-u16s teams 3 times per week and by:
a. Developing players ability to work within a team through small, sided football games, teaching them how to create goal scoring chances.
b. Improve and maintain players physical football fitness through fitness testing with and without the football to improve their repeated sprint ability throughout the season.
c. Increase players' tactical knowledge of the game through running phases of play, functional practices and video analysis sessions to identify areas where players can improve individually and as a team.
d. Improve players technical ability (shooting, passing, dribbling, running with the ball etc.), through technical football practices, challenging small, sided games and conditioned games that test their technical ability.
2. Develop and implement gameplay strategies at practice sessions, coaching standards, roles and responsibilities, and professional support and development pathways.
3. Support the Club’s football operations, other coaches, and managers to develop and implement a football development plan and playing model for all age groups.
4. Oversee the selection of players and other coaches for respective teams or squads.
5. Pre-season coaching workshops to engage coaching teams and outline strategic framework / Club requirements.
6. Dispute resolution / mediation function - interface for parent feedback, monitoring 'health' issues and grievance handling process
7. Establish and maintain strong professional relationships and communication with other coaches, the committee, and various stakeholders, including other Clubs (both association Clubs, Elite and State Clubs), associations, schools, FV and FFA.
8. Establish a communication strategy with other coaches to provide advice and support on coaching matters. Provide coaches with assessments covering training and game day activities.
9. Regularly monitor current trends in football and other sports to provide updates to game strategies for other coaches.
**Essential Skills and requirements**
- Hold a current employee “working with children” check.
- Minimum AFC A / UEFA A Licence or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year in a Technical Director/ Director of Coaching Position
- Minimum 5 years coaching experience at Junior or Senior level.
- Experience at Junior and Senior level of both the men’s and women’s game.
- Well-known and respected within the Club/football community.
- Willingness to work collaboratively and transparently with committee and coaches.
- Ability to enhance and leverage on the technical and coaching capability of the Club by coaching and mentoring technical staff/coaches.
- High level of experience in both the male and female game (International, Continental, National)
- Competent level experience with video analysis software (Hudl, Nacsport, Sportscode, VEO)
- Attendance at annual FV Coaching Conference.
- Basic understanding of the Football National Curriculum and quality coaching behaviours required for young children.
- High level interpersonal communication skills, including people management and presentation skills.
- Knowledge, understanding, and experience working in talented player/coach development.
- Experience in the establishment and ongoing management of coach/player development programs.
- Ability to provide leadership and direction.
- Strong references of club development in previous roles
- Mediation of any parent / player / coaching issues and disputes.
The estimated time commitment required as the Head Coach is **38 hours** per week.
Pay: $75,186.00 - $80,000.00 per year
