An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced Rehoming Officer to join our team. This newly created position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the Animal Rehoming Program which includes the selling, rescuing, and fostering of animals at Camden Council's Animal Shelter.

Essential:
- Certificate IV Animal Behaviour & Training or closely related discipline and/or equivalent industry experience
- Statement of Attainment (Implant microchip in cats and dogs)
- Experience working in Animal Shelters or Rescue Organisations
- Experience in Animal handling, assessment, enrichment programs and rehoming procedures
- A demonstrated high level of knowledge and experience in dealing with marketing and promotional work
- Ability to liaise and network effectively with internal staff, customers, rescue groups, foster carers, and organisations such as Animal Welfare League (AWL) and RSPCA
- Excellent communication and public relations skills
- Experience in the management of the NSW Companion Animals Register
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently
Desirable:
- Tertiary qualifications in marketing
- Photography and videography skills
- To meet Council’s WHS requirements and in accordance with Council’s Covid-19 Safety Plans, this position has been identified via risk assessment to be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or provide evidence of an approved medical contraindication. If a medical contraindication certificate is provided, it will be assessed against a risk assessment and the decision of whether Council accepts the medical contraindication certificate, will be based on operational needs._
