**The Role**:
We are searching for a friendly, passionate, and experienced person to join this well-regarded stud and commercial breeding business as Assistant Manager. Located on a picturesque property in the region of the Snowy Mountains, NSW, you will be working directly with the farm owners to manage and carry out daily operations.

This role will be focused on the operational management of the farm including all aspects of cattle and sheep husbandry, pasture management, meticulous record keeping, and general maintenance. In addition to a high level of experience with livestock management and excellent animal husbandry skills, you will ideally have a solid understanding and practical skillset across all aspects of the farm.

**The Property**:
The property comprises 12,000 acre’s of highly productive volcanic soils with 19” rainfall. The business strives to sell an average of 600 rams and 900 bulls annually, this well-established property is a pasture-based production system with grazing crops grown to support the feed gaps through winter. The business is well-resourced with modern machinery (All with GPS), laneway systems and a new set of proway sheep yards, allowing efficiency whilst ensuring the end job is done properly. There is also a significant pasture renovation program in place with some silage and hay-making production carried out by contractors.

**The Employer**:
Our clients are a large successful family-owned and operated Angus and Merino Stud plus commercial breeding enterprise spread across 3 properties in the Cooma and Monaro district of New South Wales. This multi-generational company specializes in the production of superior seedstock for the beef and wool industries and is one of the oldest and largest merino and angus cattle studs in Australia. They are a world leader in the use of measured performance and pride themselves on the quality and longevity of the animals that are bred. Seedstock has been the family’s business for over 150 years.

The successful applicant will ideally possess the following skills and attributes
- Having experience in a similar, hands-on role in a mixed livestock enterprise, stud experience is ideal but not necessary
- Experience in managing other team members as well as the ability to encourage and teach
- High-level record and data-keeping skills, attention to detail, and experience using programs such as AgriWebb, etc.
- High level of self-motivation, initiative, and self-accountability with a good, honest work ethic
- Pasture grazing management experience, understanding of optimal stocking rates, etc.
- Experience with farm machinery operation, mechanical and general maintenance
- Be an excellent communicator with aspirations to learn and further develop the businesses
