Investment and Technology is a Group within the Department of Transport and Planning, and is responsible for leading and managing the investment lifecycle, driving commercial advice & negotiations to facilitate reform and enables core delivery through Finance, Procurem,ent and Enterprise Technology.

**About the Role**

The Finance Business Partner is responsible for undertaking a range of finance business partnering activities including financial budget and forecasting development, actual financial performance monitoring, analysis and reporting, and project/program financial management. In providing these services the position is to exercise professional judgement and provides sound advice, guidance and support to assist internal clients in their decision making and business performance.

**Your outcomes and accountabilties,**
- Exercise professional judgement in undertaking a range of financial business partnering activities including budget and forecast development, actual financial performance monitoring, analysis and reporting, and project/program financial management.
- Provide sound advice, guidance and support to internal clients relating to financial business partnering services and ensure internal client compliance with Department financial policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal clients and inform, advise and influence clients in understanding financial matters and outcomes which affect their decision making and business performance.

A solid grasp of **business and commercial acumen** is key, as you’ll be expected to understand operational costs and seek efficient solutions. **Problem-solving** skills are also critical—you’ll gather necessary information, analyse issues from different perspectives, and offer practical solutions to challenges. You’ll have strong **written communication** abilities to create concise, purpose-driven documents and **verbal communication** skills to convey ideas effectively, adjust to your audience’s needs, and embrace constructive feedback.

**Qualifications and Experience**

**Mandatory**
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant or a related discipline.
- Relevant Finance or Accounting degree which includes all foundation requirements for entry into CA/CPA Program.

**Desirable**
- Membership of CPA or CA
