**The Opportunity**:
Lithgow City Council has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Human Resources Manager to join the organisation. In this role you will lead a team to deliver best practice advice to our staff to ensure a safe and healthy working environment. You will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining compliance of Council's Human Resources function.

You will ensure compliance with industrial laws, awards and requirements, coordinate staff recruitment, learning, development and training. In addition, you will manage and administer Council's Payroll and Salary System, coordinate workers compensation claims, industrial relations, monitor employment legislation and provide specialist advice to Council's Executive Leadership team, committees and employees.

The successful applicant will have strong leadership skills, exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with people at all levels of the organisation.

**About you**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related field
- Relevant work related experience in a human resource environment
- Experience in providing high-level human resources advice to management and staff regarding disciplinary matters, performance management, change management ,and other matters in accordance with HR policies, procedures and legislation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lead and work in a team environment
- A strong self-motivation and demonstrated initiative in approaching the functions of the position
- Experience in conducting staff training
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Programs and HRIS Systems
- Thorough working knowledge of employment legislation
- Ability to ensure a high degree of confidentiality
- Commitment to Work Health and Safety and Risk Management Procedures
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of honesty and integrity
