**Role**:
The role of the maintenance and security caretaker is to ensure that the college is closed securely each night and to maintain the grounds and the facilities to a specified standard. The caretaker reports directly to the Facilities Manager but will also be closely involved with the Business Manager and the Principal team.

There are a number of duties which the maintenace caretaker must perform on a daily basis and those are listed below. For many of these duties a good level of physical fitness is required.

It should be noted that the maintenance caretaker will be required to undertake tasks on an ad hoc basis as issues are identified. The Facilities Manager will advise the maintenance caretaker of these issues and will prioritise the actions of the maintenance caretaker.

The caretaker will be provided with a phone which must be kept on at all times so that issues can be relayed directly to the caretaker. The PM caretaker must ensure the school premises are secure at all times.

**Responsibilities**:
**Daily tasks - PM Caretaker**

Follow maintenance schedule as provided by the Facilities Manager

Maintain the security of the college and report any security breaches to the Facilities Manager.

Maintain paper supplies to all photocopiers

Activate alarms in all areas after all persons have left.

**Maintenance duties**

The Maintenance Caretaker may be asked to perform any of the following duties related to maintenance around the college.
- general building maintenance related to the college facilities. These can include but is not limited to repair of lockers, repair of faulty windows and doors, unblocking of toilets, cleaning of gutters etc.

General garden maintenance which may include but is not limited to weeding, cutting back of foliage, watering etc.

Liaise with the cleaning contractors.

Other duties as directed by the Facilities Manager, Business Manager or Principal team
