Triple P are seeking an Indigenous Contract Trainer to work with our Indigenous partner organisations.

Triple P International is responsible for the dissemination of the Triple P Positive Parenting Program® (Triple P), an evidence-based multi-level family intervention program. This award-winning program promotes the independence and health of families by enhancing parents’ knowledge, skills and confidence and is based on decades of research and clinical trials.

As a contractor the role will provide the opportunity to work flexibly during school terms with training being delivered in person and online. Some travel may be required, including the possibility to travel to remote communities which may include outside of hours or weekend travel, with advance notice and support provided.

**The Role**

The Trainer will work with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander partners across Australia to train and accredit practitioners in our Indigenous programs (online or in-person). Duties will include:

- Delivery of active skills training programs, 1-4 days duration (plus travel as required)
- Training with newly developed programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families
- Delivery of one day workshops to help prepare participants for their accreditation
- Assess participants’ parent consultation skills through an accreditation process
- Delivery of clinical support days on specific implementation topics
- Attend national training team meetings for professional development and support
- Working with our Indigenous Implementation Consultants and Cultural Consultant

**The Person**

To be considered for this role the following criteria is required or desired:

- **Required **_
- To perform this role, it is essential that the person who holds the position be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the _Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 _that applicants are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
- **Desired**_
- Comprehensive understanding of the history, and the effects that impact contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and how it relates to parenting today
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships
- Availability for a minimum of 4 consecutive days a month
- A degree or post-graduate degree in psychology (e.g., Masters, PhD), preferably clinical or educational (or related field) or related equivalent experience
- Experience in group training facilitation and/or teaching as it relates to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of learning
- Experience providing constructive feedback in a positive, non-judgmental way
