**Bondi Before & After School Care (Bondi BASC) - Educational Leader **Assistant **Position**

**Position Title**:Assistant Educational Leader

**Hours of Work**:Full time - 38 hours per week

**Location**: Bondi, Sydney

**About the Service**

Bondi BASC is a community based, Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) service that provides Before, After & Vacation Care programs for up to 200 children per day. Our devoted team of educators are committed to creating a high-quality service where children and their families feel that they belong, a home away from home.
- Working alongside the Educational Leader to create an inspirational vision for children's learning and the BASC curriculum.
- Leading the development and implementation of the educational program (or curriculum) at BASC.
- Motivating and supporting educators in working toward shared goals for children and their learning.

**Essential Criteria**
- Available to work 38 hours per week
- Current Working with Children Check
- Child Protection qualification
- First Aid Certificate
- Effective communicator with highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills
- A talent for engaging others and building a positive culture and a willingness to learn
- An understanding of the School Aged Care learning framework My Time Our Place, educational theory, children’s development and adult learning
- A passion and energy for pedagogy, teaching and learning
- Interest in researching to build knowledge & stay current with best practices.
- A desire to guide others, and an ability to reflect on own practice.
- A willingness to listen, coach & mentor all in their team

**Key Responsibilities**
- Review and support educators in completing all aspects of the program cycle, through observation, research and reflection.
- Assist Educators with the analysis of children’s learning and development.
- Ensure an evaluation system is in place for educators to reflect on the positives, challenges and improvements for the program.
- Mentor and teach educators through observation, guided discussion and recommendations for professional development.
- Take part in the induction process for new staff.
- Research philosophies of child development to build personal knowledge, increase educators understanding and further develop BASC philosophy.
- Lead and participate in reflective discussions on practice and the implementation of My Time Our Place. The focus of these discussions will focus on interactions, routines, intentional teaching and learning.
- Lead thinking and discussions on curriculum considerations relating to inclusion and the community of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Culturally and Linguistically diverse families

**Position Benefits**
