**About Me**

Hello, I am a 23-year-old female. I am kind and care for others, I used to be a live in nanny for two young children. I also have my certificate IV. I have an autism level 3 diagnosis and have experienced past trauma, which means I struggle to regulate my emotions. When this happens, I feel like I want to cut myself but this has become a lot better recently. The things I find most helpful during these times is someone who is kind, and caring.

I am looking for support workers who are, kind, and compassionate. Please understand when I become emotional it is because I am feeling sad and angry at something in my life but it's not personal. My favourite staff are those that will have a laugh with me, take me out to interesting activities, and support me to start studying my Tafe diploma. My house must have plenty of laughter in it, so I am looking for someone who likes to smile, dance, and laugh at my dark sense of humour. With my autism it makes it difficult to read faces, so it's important you can express yourself clearly, don't assume I know what you mean if you don't speak clearly. I do like to do crafts sometimes but if I am at home my favourite activity is to sit with you outside and have conversations about life and adventures. I do like seeing my mum and twice a week we will see each other for an outing. This is my special mum time and I do this alone with her.

**The Role**

Due to some of the challenges I face, I have difficulties regulating my emotions and I can sometimes turn to self-harm. I tend to talk a lot about my self harm thoughts. In such situations, I would like you to be emphatic, gentle, and patient with me. I would also like you to use scripted responses from my plan to help regulate me. I am very aware of what my rights are so it's important you respect me and the other staff who support me by being the type of person who arrives on time and is always polite. I need to have people working for me who are prepared to stay for a while and do many shifts with me.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Assist me with ADL's
- Manual Handling
- In home activities such as cooking and arts
- Support me to achieve my goals to reach my potential in all facets of my life.
- Support my life skill development through proper implementation of established plans and programs to support the achievement of goal outcomes for me.
- Actively engage in person centred active support.
- Maintain accurate records.

**Shifts**

I am looking for someone to support me on a Part Time basis. My shifts are generally but not limited to

7:00 am -15:00 pm
15:00 pm
- 11:00 pm
11:00 pm
- 7:00 am (active overnight)
- NDIS Worker Screening or DHS Disability related check
- Current Driver's Licence
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current CPR
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability/Aged Care) or other relevant qualification
- Manual Handling Level 2

***About you**:
I am looking for someone who is consistent, reliable, and highly passionate about the job. I can do all my own personal hygiene, but it would great if you could support me with extra prompting to do this. I would also like you to role model in household activities such as cleaning, washing, cooking and meal preparation.

**Other requirements**:

- Experience in working with people who have experience with high behaviours of concern's
- Ability to implement individualised developmental programs.
- Experience implementing positive behaviour support strategies.
- Flexible working hours
- Experience in various models of support preferred.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes in service delivery.
