**Dog Groomer Wanted**

At The Pet Pad, we are all about caring for animals, while making them look and feel their very best.

We are a dog salon & dog daycare that has been operating for 20 years. We’re currently undergoing a fresh new look and modern upgrades to our Newstead facility. To keep up with increasing demand, we are looking to expand our team. Our salon offers a variety of different services, including professional grooming of different breeds, styles and sizes, hydrobaths and blow dry with brush outs.

**Skills & Experience**

What we are looking for in a team member is:

- **A minimum of 1 years professional grooming experience**:

- A passion for dogs and a genuine interest in the pet industry
- Ability to confidently complete full grooms of all styles
- A strong knowledge of dog behaviour
- Confidence in your skills handling a variety of dog breeds, sizes and temperaments
- Organised and hygienic work practices
- A flexible availability

Any grooming qualifications / certificates would be considered very beneficial.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

As this is a very physical and fast paced job, the position requires someone who is both hardworking and energetic. You must be ready and willing to follow directions, but also be able to use your own initiative when necessary.

Duties include:

- Working in a calm and gentle manner to create positive experiences for the dogs under our care
- Grooming/styling pups per the owners request, within the constraints of what is achievable with their coat condition and behaviour.
- Maintaining and cleaning equipment as part of providing a hygienic and safe work environment
- Adhering to a professional presentation and work ethic
- Following policies and procedures at all times, escalating issues to senior staff when necessary
- Following good management practices are a must; we are a very busy salon, and it is important that our days run as smoothly as possible to ensure the best possible service to our customers

**Availability requirements**

Our store is open from 7am - 6pm Monday to Friday, and 8:30am - 2:30pm Saturdays. The successful applicant will have high availability for at least 20 hours a week for regularly scheduled shifts during this window.

Unfortunately, this job is not suitable for those visiting Australia on working visas.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $26.00 - $38.61 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 35 per week
